Some friends and family have gotten the full impact of it in the last
few hours, and I must say they are VERY patient.  By now, however,
they should be used to me and my toys.

I stopped at Office Depot today and bought a CanoScan LiDE 90
scanner.  For months now I\'ve been wanting a simple scanner for my
" l! @7 j) G0 @9 V+ Lslides and photos. Every other place I went to, like Wal*Mart and
! G# F; D) |# T1 v: \% c( ITarget, only sold the printer/copier/fax/scanner units.  I already own
all of that except for the scanner and wasn\'t about to spend hundreds
of dollars for more than I need.

9 F7 r) @7 ]/ C- fThis scanner costing under $80 does a great job on my photos, even the
3 T5 Q1 _6 F: |9 _6 O/ O- v( Fones of me as a baby.  My slides of astronomical art by Morris Scott
: i  q) D& ]$ i) d3 H& n' YDollens come out okay even after collecting dust for decades.  I
should be kept busy for days scanning all the photos I\'ve saved over
/ t9 K* j  Q' V; A0 Y5 x) m: Kthe years in an old suitcase.  Now if I could only figure out who all
those people in really old photos are!
