Parents who have not yet registered their children for school are being encouraged to do so next week.% Y6 @1 t5 @ x) N4 B# h1 n5 v8 j
Parents of children who'll be attending kindergarten at the Peel District School Board in the fall can register children for school from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2 at their neighbourhood school. Parents of high school students who need to register their teens are asked to call the school for registration details.
7 I0 T) Y& p' x" w zParents must provide proof of age, proof of address in Peel and the child’s immunization and education records. In some cases, immigration documents may be needed.
& T. v; y |1 i' W- EAcceptable registration documents are:
& T7 V- ^4 z+ z' f, N• birth certificate, birth registration card or passport for proof of age. ? Y8 ?* x0 s, Y
• purchase agreement, utility bills, bank statement or government-issued forms for proof of address6 i( h* A0 _) `8 `7 n& g
• yellow card or record from last country of residence, or Peel health form for immunization proof; V* V6 I+ Q; Q6 A8 j! i( [8 ~
• citizenship documentation, permanent resident card, or record of landing (IMM5292) for immigration status8 n8 E2 E( z" `6 n
• recent report cards and/or school leaving certificate (secondary students only) for education records8 l% W* P4 j+ t% ^ a9 O; M K) O7 A
For general inquiries about immunization, the immunization schedule or to determine if a child’s record is up-to-date, parents can call Health Line Peel at 905-799-7700. An exemption form can be obtained if a child has not been immunized for medical reasons or because of a conflict of religion or conscience.6 i) q% p& X- Q4 d2 Z' h; J
