Starting Monday, traffic around Square One Shopping Centre could get chaotic due to construction of the roundabout at the intersection with Square One Dr.! W1 B4 Y X0 z& L0 g: i) y& g& t
Having already suffered weeks of lane closures as preliminary curb work was being done, motorists traveling along Duke of York, north of Burnhamthorpe Dr., will now be forced to re-route to allow for the construction of the roundabout itself, which is adjacent to the new Sheridan College campus.: x _. The disruption is expected to last until at least Aug. 22 when work is scheduled to be completed.

The City will also host awareness sessions at Square One and Sheridan College.
# c* ?. n1 j" D5 e PExperts believe roundabouts reduce the severity of collisions by 75 per cent. For one thing, they eliminate high-speed T-bone crashes that are often fatal at signalled intersections. Head-on collisions are eliminated. Roundabouts are virtually maintenance-free and don’t require traffic signals.
